Big Market and Palnet Supermarkets are only (7 mins walk) – Great for fresh morning bread and accepts card payments, there are other Supermarkets such as Supermarket Gjordeni, Local Market, Supermarket Center, Supermarket Alfa and more.
Bus Stop to Sarandë/Butrint (7 mins walk) – Buses run every 45-60 minutes; tickets are bought on board in cash (around 150 LEK = €1.5).

This UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine history, featuring impressive ruins, a Greek amphitheater, Roman baths, Byzantine mosaics, the famous Lion Gate, and a Venetian tower — all surrounded by beautiful wetlands and forests. Plan around 2–3 hours for your visit. Open daily from 08:00–20:00 during summer.

Perched on a hilltop overlooking Sarandë, Lëkurësi Castle was built in 1537 by Ottoman ruler Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. From the castle terrace, you get spectacular panoramic views—the entire city of Sarandë, the curve of the Albanian Riviera, and across the Ionian Sea to the Greek island of Corfu.

A rare Byzantine gem from the 13th century, built on the ruins of an ancient Hellenic temple. Famous for its unique double apse and four domes. In 2025, hidden 800-year-old frescoes were discovered beneath whitewashed walls. One of only 350 churches spared during Albania's Communist era.

A stunning natural spring and protected Natural Monument, famous for its mesmerizing deep blue water that looks exactly like a human eye. The spring emerges from a karst cave over 50 meters deep. Surrounded by dense forest, the crystal-clear water stays a freezing 10°C (50°F) year-round.
Quick Tips: Entry ~50 ALL (€0.50). Open 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Arrive early to avoid crowds and tour buses.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the “City of Stone.” Famous for its Ottoman-era stone-roofed houses, cobblestone streets, and the massive Gjirokastër Castle overlooking the Drino Valley. Birthplace of former communist dictator Enver Hoxha and writer Ismail Kadare.
Don't miss: The castle (housing a captured US Air Force plane from the Cold War), the old bazaar, the Ethnographic Museum, and stunning valley views.
Quick tip: Wear comfortable shoes – the city is very steep and paved with slippery stone.

Known as the "City of a Thousand Windows", Berat is a UNESCO World Heritage town of white Ottoman houses stacked up the hillside. Walk up to the castle quarter, where people still live inside the old walls, visit the Onufri icon museum, and cross the Gorica bridge to the old Christian quarter on the other side of the river. It is a long drive from Ksamil, so it works best as an overnight trip or as a stop on your way to or from Tirana.

Vlorë is the city where Albania declared its independence in 1912 — you can see the Independence Monument and Flag Square in the centre. Stroll the long seaside promenade (Lungomare), climb Kuzum Baba hill for the view over the bay, and visit the little Zvërnec monastery on its island in the Narta lagoon. The drive itself is half the fun: the coastal road takes you past Himarë and Dhërmi and over the spectacular Llogara Pass. It is a long day, so leave early or stay a night.
